Canoeing at Fort Clinch

As with kayaking, Fort Clinch offers canoers a variety of launch sites, whether into the open waters of the Atlantic or into the calmer Amelia River. Along the west side of the park, the Amelia River runs north to Cumberland Island and south to the Intercoastal Waterway. The north side separates Cumberland from Amelia Island, and the east side offers the more challenging Atlantic Ocean. As with bicycling, hiking and kayaking, Fort Clinch offers a variety of levels of water enjoyment.
